Return
to Mango Grove | Buddhist Sites in Pakistan |

This tomb is visited everyday by many of the local people, an interesting continued use of the ancient mound. Just east of this was a partially ruined mosque, a favorite place of mine to find shade and a breeze. I would often sit where this photo was taken or near the old mosque and write my letters and postcards to friends and family. |

This area of the mound has been the focus of much work since the 1996 season, when evidence of the pre-urban village of Harappa was found. This part of the mound has 17 meters of vertical deposits, a long sequence from first settlement to the post-Harappan abandonment. |
