Eventually my host went off home, I was left talking and laughing with the young men. As the sun went down and the valley slowly darkened, I could see twinkling light from candles and fires at each house across the valley. As night deepened and the stars came out, each light was snuffed and the valley turned black with the absence of electric light.

Me and my crew in the morning

Around 8, the bus left in the morning. I bid fond farewell to my kind hosts and their extended families, had a final cup of tea, and was happy to head back to Mingora.

The bus driver and yesterday's passengers all giggled and exchanged gossip about my visit before getting on the bus. As is customary for the ticket taker when the bus leaves, I slapped the bus a couple times, shouting `Mingora Mingora', the destination. Everyone started laughing as we headed back.

After a visit to my hotel, I spent the day in the company of my friend who is next to me in the photo above. We prowled through Mingora hand in hand [as is customary for Pakistanis, and uncomfortable for Americans]. It provided me a great explanation and view into the bazaars, meeting my friends many family members and acquaintances. After a happy day [I was finally relaxed], we said farewell and I rode the bus back to Peshawar.
